Recently in the Bay Area this spring, I had the opportunity to visit a mural I painted with elementary school students in the summer of 2006. The mural was painted on the community center in Tennyson Gardens, a housing development of southern Hayward. The students painted the super heroes of the neighborhood, and their positive affects in the community. Five years later the wall is still vibrant, and the message radiates to passers bye everyday. I love being able to learn from what has been done in the past.

B.O.B Fest is an International DIY punk rock music festival. It is alternately held in Bremen Germany , Oakland California, and Bath England. The event is a biannual reunion for touring bands and family members of the punk community. The local scene each help organize, promote, and host the festival for their hometown. The B.O.B Fest Media Team now returns to Oakland for our fourth tour of duty. We have documented the festival since 2005, shot over eighty hours of footage, and have attended festivals in each country.

I was fortunate to assist AJG1985.com with a No Problem Production, a music video for a Marvel Comics video game. I documented the behind the scenes of the hip hop group Hieroglyphics making their new music video for the song 'Battle Drum' to be released as promotion for the new Street Fighter video game.

Festivale de los Nuevos Vientos

Nuevos Vientos, the Festival of New Winds was an international gathering celebrating art, community organizing, and culture in Ecatepec, a commuter town outside Mexico DF.
In October, 2008 I assisted fourteen artists in traveling to Ecatepec. We visited community centers, provided accessible art workshops, installations, and murals in local community spaces.
In 1968 Jimmy Smith and Jon Carlos were medalists in the 200 meter Track Sprint at the Mexico Olympics. October was the fourty year anniversary of their freedom stance on the podium, infront of Mexico, Public Media Broadcasts, and the world.
I screen printed life size silouettes of the two Olympians in their historic pose. The images cut out on butcher paper, were wheat paste installed throughout the Mexico DF, Festivales Del Nuevos Vientos, and El Museo Municipales. The two figures presence at the festival sparked conversations about the fourty years of struggle and activism since 1968, the significance of solidarity world wide with the Zapatista movement, and how this work must continue in the future.

I was the proud owner of a 1988 F350 Ford van, a retiered ambulance. I have used the ambulance as a becon for Roots and Branches; community focused art in Oakland. The vehicle transports a portable amplified sound system, provides a stage for local youth performances, and is a canvas for live art.
